Welcome to the new and improved drumline website!

This is the official website of the Purdue University Drumline and Percussion Ensemble.  Under the direction of Dr. Pam Nave, we constantly bring a unique sound to the band both on and off the field.  Here you will find all sorts of information, and announcements, regarding the Purdue Drumline as well as Percussion Ensemble.  This includes information about auditions, current drumline members, the latest homework from Dr. Nave, and much much more.

PURDUE DRUMLINE TECH DAY for incoming freshman and upper classman

PURDUE DRUMLINE TECH DAY will take place on July 14 &15, 2012 at Elliott Hall of Music.

This a FREE clinic weekend!  We will supply food and snacks.  And you will sleep in Elliott Hall, so bring a sleeping bag and pillow. (there are showers in Elliott for both men and women) The only cost to you is getting to Purdue and back home.

Things you will learn:

How to make the Purdue Drumline

Here are the steps for making the Purdue Drumline:

-Have a FANTASTIC attitude

-Memorize ALL of the pre-game music for your particular instrument

-Memorize ALL the cadence for your particular instrument

-practice ALL 26 Standard Rudiments, 40 International Rudiments and any hybrids you may come across

-always implore excellent technique and quality of sound while rehearsing above mentioned

For the Drumline Parents

I thought the parents of the drumline members would like some information on game day events.  I will update this section when we have new items to post. 

If you haven't received your football tickets yet, tell them you want seats near the band.  You'll be able to see your child and hear the band! 

Purdue Drumline Audition Procedure

Here is a timeline of Sunday August 12, 2012:

10:00am-12:00pm=room 30 will be available for open practice

11:00am-12:00pm=registration will be open in the band lounge

Private Lessons

If you are interested in private lessons,  please contact Andy King at 765-494-7886,  king6@purdue.edu

Dr. Nave will be teaching private lessons on any percussion instrument of your choice.  The four main instruments are snare drum, mallets (marimba, vibes, xylophone), timpani and drum set.  There are several options of cost and times through the private lesson form given by Andy King, the applied music coordinator.
